Some days back Nokia filed a complaint against Apple for patent infringement. The lawsuit against Apple isn’t for only one single product, but for most Apple products. Nokia claims that Apple has allegedly used Nokia’s user interface, digital cameras, antennas and power management to design its products.

This is not the first time that Nokia has alleged Apple of violating the patent rights. Just a couple days prior to this incident, Nokia has filed a lawsuit to US ITC(International Trade Commission) against Apple. And Apple had reverted with identical patent infringement complaint against Apple. Just a little after Nokia’s sue, Apple went public and stated that Nokia had infringed 13 of Apple’s patents.

Last year in 2009, Apple did outstanding business and sold about millions of units by the end of the year. What’s more, it is said, Apple couldn’t meet the high demands from its buyers. And just as the year started, there is something unpleasant ready for for it.
Nokia says it has about 1000 patent fillings (Nokia). And that Apple has copied Nokia’s work not only for one product but for all their products.
If Nokia wins the case, Apple will need to withdraw selling its products which come under patent infringement– that may be horrific equally for Apple and Apple clients. But the issue may perhaps take a long time to solve. And who knows in the meanwhile, yet other competitors will be in news for a similar problem. Let’s wait and watch which one is the next cellular company to get into the dispute and what the allegation could be.
